The forecast wasn’t so good, but, once we left Ballycastle where it was very overcast, we soon moved into bright sunshine on a perfect sail over to Islay. And what a lovely island this is with such a lovely name. Ian’s youngest whom haven’t yet met, is named Isla, spelt slightly differently, but pronounced the same.
Before arriving, I telephoned ahead to book a table at a local seafood restaurant – “Seasalt”. And we weren’t disappointed . Fantastic food at the end of a beautiful day. There are 8 whiskey distilleries on Islay, which, with a population of only about 4000 must take some drinking
